The book Word Formation in the Russian Language (Словообразование в русском языке), authored by Shahram Hemmatzadeh, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), has been published recently by SBU Press in 204 pages.
In today's world, the components of language education have changed. Considering the characteristics of language learners and the challenges posed by new and effective educational structures and methods in language teaching, implementing these components in language education appears more necessary than ever.
Word formation is one of the most fundamental topics in language education, but experience has shown that Iranian students and language learners face many challenges in mastering this subject. Studying word formation in Russian is not an easy task for all language learners. Therefore, the author has endeavored to present the principles and methods of word formation in Russian in a simple and clear Persian language, considering the views of prominent Russian grammarians and linguists such as Lakont, Tikhonov, Zimskaya, Rozental, Kalabukhov, Polkina, and others, so that Iranian language learners can understand and master this topic in the best possible way.
The book is divided into eight chapters. In each chapter, the author approaches the topic of word formation in Russian from a scientific and linguistic perspective and also pays attention to its educational aspects by using simple examples. Additionally, at the end of each topic, a table has been designed for easier understanding of the content, and the questions related to each chapter have been extracted from the master's and doctoral exams of various years to familiarize the reader with how questions are formulated in these exams. Therefore, studying this book is useful and beneficial, especially for enthusiasts, learners, and students of the Russian language.
