The book ‘An Anthology of the Poems of Major Iranian Women Poets’ translated by Seyed Abolghassem Fatemi Jahormi, a retired faculty member of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Shahid Beheshti University has been published recently by SBU Press in 126 pages.

Undoubtedly, women have a great share in the proud literary and cultural history of Iran. Even when learning to read and write was very difficult, poets emerged whose works are unique, including Parvin E’tesami, Simin Behbahani, Jahan Malek Khatun and Mahsati Ganjavi. These women poets have always had a worthy place, and their poems have remained eternal in the history of Persian poetry like a shining star and are full of love, honesty and beauty of words. Thus, the translator has also used the utmost precision and delicacy in selecting and translating some of the poems of these poets into English, and has rendered them verse by verse in a rhythmic and metric way, so that the reader can enjoy the beauty and message of the poems through translation.
